Lv. Studies on Bile Pigments
THE study of bile pigment derivatives is important because these substances represent the end-products of haemoglobin metabolism. The destruction of haemoglobin both normal and pathological can thus be measured by quantitative determination of the urobilin and urobilinogen in urine and faeces. On the other hand, when pathological destruction of haemoglobin can be excluded, urobilinor urobilinog...
متن کاملStudies on copper metabolism. IV. The influence of copper on the absorption of iron.
In a previous paper in this series (l), evidence was presented that the absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract of swine deficient in copper is markedly reduced. This conclusion rests, in part, on the observation that in copper-deficient pigs fed the same quantity of either natural or radioiron for the same period of time as litter mate controls there was less iron absorbed, natural ...
متن کاملProperties of copper (fluoro-)phthalocyanine layers deposited on epitaxial graphene.
We investigate the atomic structure and electronic properties of monolayers of copper phthalocyanines (CuPc) deposited on epitaxial graphene substrate. We focus in particular on hexadecafluorophthalocyanine (F(16)CuPc), using both theoretical and experimental (scanning tunneling microscopy - STM) studies. For the individual CuPc and F(16)CuPc molecules, we calculated the electronic and optical ...
متن کاملCopper phthalocyanine based Schottky diode solar cells
Copper phthalocyanine (CuPc)/Aluminum (Al) Schottky diode solar cells were studied. The thickness of the CuPc layer was varied from 15 nm to 140 nm. Short circuit current densities (Jsc) increased with thickness from 0.042 mA/cm at 15 nm to 0.124 mA/cm at 120 nm reaching saturation at that level. Open circuit voltages (Voc) increased from 220 mV at 15 nm to 907 mV at 140 nm. Analysis of the cur...
متن کاملNonequilibrium spin crossover in copper phthalocyanine
We demonstrate the nonequilibrium tip induced control of the spin state of copper phthalocyanine on an insulator coated substrate. We find that, under the condition of energetic proximity of many-body neutral excited states to the anionic ground state, the system can undergo a population inversion towards these excited states. The resulting state of the system is accompanied by a change in the ...
